paperswell and sweet goldens

designsgirl is putting the finishing touches on the upcoming issue of paperswell magazine and it is a lovely one.

Sixteen swell artists are featured in this "Flowers/Ladies/Art" edition and, of course, our girls Garner and Gibson always steal the show since the magazine is done for them and their canine brethren.

All paperswell proceeds go directly to the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies in Golden, Colorado.

Current issues are available at magcloud.com and the 2014 edition will be available in February 2014.

Legendary and compliant coonhound Maddie of Maddie on Things has an universal following of which I am a part and she even has her own book.

If you wish to support a great cause (animal rescue) and enjoy a daily giggle, you must follow her and her loving owner Theron Humphrey on their treks across the country.

This lovable lab captured my heart and I knew it would find its way into our home.

This is one of a series of canine sketches by English artist (and left handed painter) Valerie Davide of North Cornwall. The magic of her work is captured in the eyes of her subjects which range from fox terriers to dalmations.

What a wonderful experience to work with Amber Moon, proprietress of Los Angeles paper goods and floral studio Pitbulls and Posies. An architect by training-turned official paper lover, Amber asked designsgirl to provide the envelope calligraphy for a couple marrying in Greece. 

I knew Amber was my kind of fellow creative; she is a delight with whom to work AND she donates a portion of her proceeds to Karma Rescue, a Los Angeles-area dog shelter.
