Dried leucadendron leaves and purple verbena from the garden add pretty colors to this floral package.

Light shades of green are my favorite colors. I found this handmade chartreuse colored paper with gold polka dots at my local art store and adorned it with blooming white succulents from our yard.

I knew that if I created a line of Pom Pom place cards, I would spend my free time with a ball of yarn and my collection of pom pom makers. 

Just having this gorgeous yarn around brightens the spirit. And there is something about creating with your hands. 

pretty packages: rubiginous ribbon

My mother finds the coolest things, and for Christmas, she gave me these metal ribbons. They are so unique and they are surprisingly malleable.

a perfect gift

This special handmade crossstitch-covered cookbook with family recipes from the Sumner family of Midland, Texas was given to me for Christmas by my childhood friend Sara. 

Sara's mother, Betty, with whom I was close while growing up in Midland, passed away in June and Sara took the time to complete her mother's cookbook and present it to me this Christmas.

I found this pretty marbleized handmade paper at my local art supply store. The gold veins make it especially elegant.

designsgirl is making her own pom poms for a new "hello love" line of paper good products to be introduced in spring 0f 2013.

This particular nylon/tencel/alpaca blend of yarn makes a beautifully bright and textured gift wrap decoration.

My mother gave me a fabulous Frieda Khalo postcard set and I decided the images would be perfect for a kitschy gift wrap.
