a super sized project

It is that time of the year when the calligrapher is immersed in wedding projects. For designsgirl, this wedding project for Jordan Mutchler is her largest one to date- hand addressing over 350 envelopes for a 500+ wedding at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

in destination i do magazine

 

It was a thrill to see my calligraphy in the current 10th anniversary issue of Destination I Do magazine for an on-location Italian photo shoot on the Amalfi Coast for Kristy Rice of Momental Design.

animal themed baby shower

  

designsgirl shot this animal-themed baby shower for REstyleSOURCE which coincided with a real baby shower for my friend Paula who asked me to design a Kitschy Regal bunny baby shower invitation.

Decor featured an unique porcelain swan cake stand, colorful family china and silver and animal place card holders.

kitschy regal alice in wonderland

designsgirl was thrilled to do an "Alice in Wonderland" kitschy regal wedding invitation for Annie Roche of 5 by 7 designs in Dallas, Texas. A nod to the groom's Oxford lineage and the bride's Texas roots were incorporated into the design.

I was thrilled to see my first Kitschy Regal design printed recently when my lovely client Paula ordered my "chicken" design for her personal stationery.

I hand drew the envelope liner stripes to match the notecards and had the wonderful letterpress company Smock Paper print them.

Maura Gauthier of The Paper Guppy commissioned designsgirl to do wedding calligraphy for bridal couple Ashley and Adam. Their beautiful wedding was included recently on Style Me Pretty.

I am thrilled by the response to my Kitschy regal designs.

I have had the pleasure to work with several clients for Save the Date and wedding announcements recently and have been building a collection of designs for semi-custom work for crests, monograms, postage stamps and invitations.

As a designer for Bella Figura- the artisanal letterpress company of Syracuse, New York- I have the pleasure to design wedding invitations each year.

I love experimenting with new lettering styles and typically work with a calligraphy nib and gouache. But I am adding brushes and brush pens to my tool box to expand my repertoire.
