This beautiful and dreamy boudoir photo shoot, featured this past week on Wedding Sparrow, was styled and photographed by Connie Whitlock of Connie Dai Photography and Shannon Von Eschen of Shalynne Imaging.
I was thrilled to create the calligraphy body art and wish to thank Shannon and Lana Frankel of Lana's Shop for including me in this special project.
designsgirl has talented friends and when they ask her to do fun projects with complete creative license, she gets giddy with excitement.
A watercolor garland filled with berries and flowers was done based on my introduction to watercolor by way of a recent watercolor class given by the uber-talented Kristy Rice of Momental Designs.
And new lettering styles were used that I am polishing for the upcoming season.
designsgirl has had the great pleasure and privilege to do work recently for the extraordinary painter and wedding invitation designer Kristy Rice- the proprietress of Momental Designs.
Her work is simply breathtaking and I am pleased to share one of the recent projects where I contributed calligraphy.
This naming ceremony announcement is a magical blend of blind letterpress, rose gold foil, watercolor washes, painterly blooms, pearls and tulle.
Sara Hasstedt is an extraordinarily talented Denver wedding photographer who shared her beautiful photographs recently of bride and groom Jessica and Matthew at their outdoor garden wedding.
I was honored to hand letter the wedding calligraphy of the couple's invitation, envelopes and reception pieces.
Lana Frankel of Lana's Shop painted the original artwork of the Protea flower for the envelope liner and Maura Gauthier of The Paper Guppy designed the invitation suite.

Colorado's chicest and most sophisticated magazine- Reign - has made quite an impact on the Denver scene since it was launched two years ago by the husband and wife team of Betsy and Kevin Marr.
It has been designsgirl's pleasure to do a range of hand lettering for some of its features and on some unusual surfaces- wood, leather, glass, cloth and china.
When you work with creative people, you are always learning new things.

designsgirl has had the great pleasure to do work recently for the painter and wedding invitation designer Kristy Rice- the proprietress of Momental Designs - who created the gorgeous hand painted wedding invitations and suite pieces recently for Jessica Simpson's wedding.
Her work is simply breathtaking and I am pleased to share a few of the recent projects where I contributed calligraphy.
Kristy uses a plethora of magical elements in her work based on whatever her imagination can conjure from blind letterpress, rose gold foil, watercolor washes, painterly blooms to ribbons, pearls, wood veneer, lace and tulle.
A calligraphy project descended from the heavens recently when designsgirl received the commission to do the wedding calligraphy for Jessica Ann Simpson's and Eric Maxwell Johnson's recent nuptials.
The lavish affair, including the invitation, is featured in the latest issue of People magazine.
I am forever grateful to my calligraphy fairy godmother- the talented painter and proprietress of Momental Designs - Kristy Rice- who presented me with this extraordinary job and who created all of the breathtaking hand painted wedding suite pieces.
I am grateful to Samantha and Whitney - owners of the gorgeous Gus & Ruby stationer of Portsmouth, New Hampshire stationer- who gave designsgirl calligraphy credit during a recent Oh So Beautiful Paper feature of clients Kate and Cleon dreamy wedding suite.
The rose gold metallic gouache I used for Kate's and Cleon's wedding envelopes was gleamingly beautiful.
Aren't the ladie of Gus & Ruby talented?
designsgirl was recruited recently to do projects for a baby shower for a special client's friend.
I was able to use my "hello love" hand made pom pom place cards for the shower which matched perfectly with the baby blue and brown colored theme and also do chalkboard lettering which is always great fun.
Isn't this chalkboard fabulous?
It was a honor to be the featured as the Reign Maker in the latest issue of Reign magazine- a sophisticately swell publication created by Denver publishing talents Betsy and Kevin Marr.
When designsgirl clients ask her to replicate a particular font, she used to hestitate, knowing that it takes years to develop a hand lettering style.
Now, I love the challenge and realize these commissions help me to grow and develop in my craft.
My thank you to Heather Dwight of Calluna Events and Elizabeth Winheld of Sweet Letterpress who presented me with this wedding project on behalf of bride-to-be Page Crowther and her fiance Scott Sepic.
