designsgirl is always a bit surprised when her art speaks to the gentlemen set, but very pleased when it occurs.

My Chapel Oak illustration serves as an inspirational symbol for author and documentary film maker Stephen McGhee's business cards.

In her spare time, designsgirl creates illustrations for her "hello love" paper goods line. 

This baby-themed gift wrap is her first design printed on wrapping paper rolls. 

finally, pinterest

designsgirl is a contradiction- an early adopter in some ways and a late bloomer in other ways.

This late bloomer is finally on the Pinterest band wagon and with only a few boards under her belt, she is off and running...

Ladies, abstracts, color/pattern, flowers, table settings (and always more glorious books) are board ideas I plan to introduce each month as I learn the proper Pinterest etiquette.

designsgirl was pleased as punch to create some editorial design submissions recently and use her new photography as well as graphic design and calligraphy skills...

custom wrapping paper

designsgirl has found a new source for custom rolls of wrapping paper and she looks forward to seeing how these hand illustrated "hello love" designs look in gift wrap form.

Stephanie McKean of Pier 9 Designs is a graphic designer right here in my hometown of Castle Rock.

She contacted designsgirl to be a part of a wedding shoot in a beautiful barn in the Colorado mountains of Evergreen and do some simple bride and groom sign chalk lettering.

Here is a sample where I incorporated gold fill and veins into the lettering to add dimension.

bridal shower place cards

designsgirl has designed Pom Pom placecards but this particular design (used for a bridal shower) seems best suited for shiny wedding bells instead of the standard issue Pom Pom.

custom monograms no. 3

Billie Sue Brogden Schaffer is a childhood friend who owns a successful and fabulous gift store in Houston, Texas called Out of the Box. 

Billie Sue asked designsgirl to create monograms for the stationery, party and paper goods that fill her shop. When you are from the south, everything must be monogrammed- even the dog.

Here are the hand illustrated designs I created for Billie Sue.

sweet save the date and thank you cards

Fellow Bella Figura designer Maura Gauthier asked designsgirl to provide calligraphy for her clients' Save the Date and thank you cards. 

The combination of Maura's beautiful hand illustration and the hand lettering makes a lovely design.
