Her work is simply breathtaking and I am pleased to share one of the recent projects where I contributed calligraphy.

Kristy uses a plethora of magical elements in her work based on whatever her imagination can conjure from blind letterpress, rose gold foil, watercolor washes, painterly blooms to ribbons, pearls, wood veneer, lace and tulle.
Using white ink on colored envelopes makes such a striking impact.
This envelope was hand lettered for a design blog feature about mail art using Kitchen Paper banners.
designsgirl received a commission to do chalk lettering art for the August 2012 issue of Denver's Colorado Business Magazine.
This was my first foray into chalk lettering and, after working on a massive 4 foot x 8 foot chalkboard for an all-day studio shoot, designsgirl is ready for more.
I was thrilled to have this opportunity since I have been practicing on my own chalkboards for some upcoming wedding menu projects.

A Kumquat shade of gouache was used on these guest cards for a Fall gathering. The spicy autumnal colors played beautifully against velvety red coxcomb and tangerine Gerbera daisies on display.

California beauty Caroline Tassin, affectionately known as Cie, asked me to do the hand lettering of her wedding envelopes. We had a great time collaborating with several projects including custom rubber stamps for the couple's home address and newlywed names, and custom note cards for her bridesmaids.

I love incorporating vintage threads, beads, yarns and inks into place cards, signs, table cards & guest books. I found a treasure trove of these at one of my favorite paper stores - Two Hands Paperie - in Boulder, Colorado, including a glass jar filled with the most unusual glass beads, odd-shaped sequins, springs, & charms.

Here, a hand drawn flower is filled in with a French ink. The iridescence of this ink is what makes it so special, adding unexpected spangle to the piece.
