hermes and kermit oliver

As a Texas native, I was expecially captivated by the story of Paris, Texas resident and artist Kermit Oliver who became the first American to design one of Hermes' signature silk scarves in 1984.

If was after Jean-Louis Duman of Hermes asked his friend Lawrence Marcus (of Neiman Marcus) to recommend an artist who could capture the spirit of the Southwest. Marcus suggested Oliver, and the resulting decades-long collaboration is history.
