interlude: tissue rosettes

Tissue rosette
My funky mixed media artist of a mom creates the coolest things.

Here she took a few sheets of toilet tissue (or you may experiment with tissue paper), wet them so that that they were damp and pushed them into a silicone candy mold. She let the tissue dry overnight (make sure it is completely dry) and then out comes beautiful rosettes to sew onto a package or to use as garland.

with mary As a business owner, one of the nicest things that can happen is to have clients call on you again. It may occur within a few months or a few years as in the case of Mary Arzt of Sharp and Co. in Maryland. Mary has hired me over the course of four years to do the calligraphy for both of her nieces' weddings. I do not know how many nieces and nephews Mary has but I hope there will be enough to pass the five year mark of client/calligrapher engagements. That would be a very nice thing.
