I have always had a proclivity to write letters, even as a little girl. It seemed so cosmopolitan and allowed me to decorate the envelope and express myself, whether it was to my grandparents or our dog Harry K.
Now, more than ever, the written letter sent through the mail is seemingly anachronistic but for those recipients the bright-colored envelope in the mail, hand addressed with a paper of thoughtful words inside, never goes out of style.
I have a special place in my heart for letter writing because that is how my husband and I spent our courtship when circumstances did not allow us to be together. These letters from my beloved are a priceless cache of memories, discoveries and declarations of love and of dreams to come true.
Keep the art of correspondence alive and be a standout in the modern crowd. It is a carrier of family history and a beautiful way to stay connected.
